BIAB vs gel polish: which manicure is right for you?

BIAB and gel polish are two of our most-requested manicures, and they often get mixed up. Both are cured under lamp and both last for weeks — but they're built for different things. Here's a simple way to decide.

What is gel polish?

Gel polish is colour that's cured to a high-shine, chip-resistant finish. It's perfect when you want a clean, glossy colour on healthy natural nails and typically lasts around two to three weeks.

What is BIAB?

BIAB — Builder In A Bottle — is a soak-off builder gel applied as an overlay. It adds strength and a smooth, neat finish, protects weaker nails as they grow, and usually lasts up to four weeks. At our studios we apply BIAB on short to medium length natural nails.

Which should you book?

Choose gel polish for a quick, glossy colour on strong nails. Choose BIAB if your nails are prone to breaking, you're growing them out, or you want your set to last as long as possible. Not sure? Tell us your goal in studio and we'll recommend the right option.
